Two Looks: Dramatic Dark Grey/Purple and Bright Sparkling Green

I actually have two looks from this weekend, as opposed to zero like it has been. I didn't wear either one of these anywhere special, but that doesn't really bother me. I enjoy the process more than impressing people, really.

Here's the first look:

Eyes:
-Urban Decay Primer Potion
-Sugarpill "Bulletproof" in crease and along lower lashline
-Sugarpill "Dollipop" blended into the crease
-Kat Von D "Glock" (from the Metal Orchestra palette) outer 1/2 of lid
-Kat Von D "Razor Gray" on inner half of lid
-Kat Von D "First Class" on inner corners
-MAC "Feline" eyeliner along upper lashline
-NYX "Milk" on waterline
-Maybelline "One by One" black mascara

Lips:
-Morgana Cryptoria "Mistress of Diamonds"
-Lime Crime "Kaleidoscope" Carousel Gloss

The Kat Von D Metal Orchestra palette is kind of hit and miss. I got it on sale for about $15, so it's not a huge deal, but some of the shadows are disappointing, like the white I used for the inner corners. It's like...chunky or something, I dunno. I like the two greys a lot, and the matte black is pretty pigmented. It's about half and half. As for the lips, how pretty are those two together? Some of you might consider it blasphemous to use those two together, but I don't care. It's a gorgeous combo. I really love the color of Mistress of Diamonds, it's a very flattering purple.

The second look:
I wore this look to Krispy Kreme. So glamorous. :P

Eyes:
-Persephone Minerals "Jupiter Oak Evolution" in outer V
-Sugarpill "Midori" just a little bit on the outer 1/2 of lid
-Fyrinnae "Electric Stardust" over some Pixie Epoxy all over the center of the lids
-Nyx "Milk" blended out on the inner corners
-Sugarpill "Bulletproof" along lower lashline
-MAC "Feline" on upper lashline and waterline
-Maybelline "One by One" black mascara

The foundation I used for both of these looks is Cover Girl Clean in "Creamy Natural" in case anyone was wondering.

This look was so much brighter and sparklier in person, I hate that it didn't transfer into photos. Electric Stardust is such a pretty minty sparkly color.

Whew, now that I got all that written, I'm going to go attempt to finish Final Fantasy XIII so I can get XIII-2! Homework is for squares!

Have a lovely Sunday!

"Blix Remix" LOTD

Here's my contribution to the "Blix Remix" challenge this week in the Never Too Much Sparkle Facebook group! I haven't had the chance to participate in one of these until now. The challenge was to pick a look from Blix and try to recreate it. Blix is one of my absolute favorite bloggers, so I had to do it. I get inspired by her looks all the time, not to mention she's one of the hottest women on the internet. Just sayin'. The original look I attempted to recreate is here.

...and here's me attempting to be as sexy as Blix, lol. Fail.

For the eyes:
-Urban Decay Primer Potion
-Sugarpill "Bulletproof" in the crease and all along the lower lashline into a point in the inner corner
-Sugarpill "Poison Plum" blended above and into the outer V and crease
-Aromaleigh "Frutti di Bosco" on outer half of lid
-Persephone Minerals "Pegasus" on inner half of lid, applied pretty generously
-Glamour Doll Eyes "Family Secret" on the browbone
-Kat Von D tattoo liner in "Trooper" on the upper lashline, winged out
-Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion black mascara

Lips:
-Avon "Peach Daiquiri" lipstick
-some random pink sparkly lip gloss

I really like how this turned out, but it doesn't look as dramatic on me. I still love the black point on the inner corners, though, that's such an awesome touch. I think it would have helped if I had used some false lashes, it would have bumped up the drama and been more true to the original.

This was fun, I'm hoping to participate in more of these little make up challenges. It really helps you to get inspired to be creative, which I've been needing lately.

Have a lovely weekend!

Black Cherry EOTD

So wow, Christmas is almost here. It really snuck up on me again, like it always does. I wore this look out the other day to go Christmas shopping (and birthday shopping for my mom). I like this color scheme. It's pink without being "cute," which is good sometimes. It also sort of matches my hair. Gosh my eyes look mean! You might even say my eyes can be so cruel...

What I Used:
-Too Faced Shadow Insurance
-Persephone Minerals "Black Lady" outer V and crease
-Sugarpill "Love +" as a transitional color between the blackened pink and bright pink
-Shiro Cosmetics "Because We Can" on the center of the lid
-Persephone Minerals "Small Lady" on the inner corner
-Maybelline Great Lash "Big" black mascara
-MAC "Feline" black eyeliner

I did a lot of sweeping/blending because I wanted this to be very gradient-like. I think the use of Love+ between "Black Lady" and "Because We Can" really helped boost that effect.

Next time I'll have a full LOTD and not just eyes. I'm starting to feel like my old self again when it comes to makeup, so hopefully I'll get back into posting as regularly as I used to. :)

Have a lovely day!

"Sunsetty....like a sunset" LOTD

Sup guys? Did you think I died? I thought I did too there for a minute. School got REALLY crazy for the last 3 weeks, but it's all over now thank GOD. Another issue I had was my skin breaking out. Not acne or anything, but I have a chronic skin condition that flares up from time to time, and I think all the stress was making it particularly bad so I wasn't wearing any makeup. Anyway, I'm back. For real. With a LOTD. It's sunsetty..like a sunset.

Eyes:
-Too Faced Shadow Insurance
-a mixture of Sugarpill "Flamepoint" and "Love+" in the crease (started out with Flamepoint, but it wasn't dark enough so I added some Love+)
-Persephone Minerals "Mars Crystal Power" over some Pixie Epoxy on the main lid
-Persephone Minerals "Princess Venus" on inner corners
-Persephone Minerals "Chibiusa" on lower lashline
-MAC Feline on waterline
-Kat Von D tattoo liner in "Trooper" along upper lashline
-Maybelline Lash Stiletto black mascara

Lips:
-Fyrinnae lip lustre in "Lollipop-Pop"

Man it's been a while. I've missed it, really. I think considering how long it's been since I've done any serious makeup, this looks pretty decent. Also, say goodbye to that hair. I'm chopping it off on Tuesday and putting bright red and purple highlights in it. I know I know, it's pretty long. But it's also a pain in the ass and very damaged at the ends. I was planning on waiting to come back until I'd gotten my hair done, but when I saw it'd been a whole MONTH since my last post I decided to come back asap. I missed everybody! :D

Just Another St. Patrick's Day EOTD

I know they're probably flooding your feed and getting on your nerves, sorry. I'm also sorry for being absent so much lately. It's not like anyone's on the edge of their seat waiting for me to post a blog, but I know I find myself thinking "What ever happened to ___?" School is what happened to me. Last week was spring break and as soon as I got back I was loaded with assignments. I'm done (for now), though, so I'm happy about that.
Enough about me, here's the look. Just eyes today, my skin is NOT pretty lately and trust me you don't wanna see it.
A little blurry to show the glitter.

-TFSI
-Pixie Epoxy (just on the lower lashline)
-Shiro Cosmetics "Budew" all over main lid
-Fyrinnae "Eternal Innocence" in crease
-Persephone Minerals "Jupiter Oak Evolution" on lower lash line and winged out
-Persephone Minerals "Princess Jupiter" inner corners
-MAC Feline eyeliner on waterline
-Maybelline Lash Stiletto black mascara
-Kat Von D tattoo liner in "Trooper" on upper lashline

I really like how this turned out, but it didn't really transfer well into pictures. It looked much better IRL. Jupiter Oak Evolution looks AMAZING. I don't normally wear really glittery eyeshadows so I haven't gotten the chance to wear this color yet, but it VERRRRRY sparkly and pretty. It was the perfect color for St. Paddy's Day, even though I didn't do anything. (I'm not 21 yet, what's the point?) I also really love Budew, it's one of my favorite greens that I have. I just felt like being festive today. I know I don't look like it, but I am very Irish on my mom's side.

*On a completely unrelated but very important note, if you have bought lipsticks from Morgana Cryptoria, you should read this post that the owner made yesterday. She has recalled some of her lipsticks because of some incorrect ingredient information from her supplier, as well as found out some of them contain carmine (making them non-vegan). If this concerns you, you really should check it out. I have a few of the recalled ones and e-mailed Melissa about it. She replied almost immediately and offered either a refund, store credit, or exchange. I think it really shows integrity that she came right out and let everyone know what was up immediately. I can think of a few companies who could learn a thing or two from this lady...

Persephone Minerals Sailor Chibi Moon Set

The latest from Persephone Minerals, Sailor Chibi Moon! I was lucky enough to get to do a trade with Victoria, so I got a sample set of this as well as Sailor Moon. I plan on swatching the Sailor Moon set soon as well. As a kid, I didn't really like Chibi Moon. I thought she was bratty, and she was my least favorite character. However, a few years ago I watched the subtitled version of Sailor Moon and realized Chibiusa isn't really like that at all. The English dub just made everything sucky. She's actually one of the best characters, IMO. Anyway, on to the swatches :) All of these are swatched over Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy.
There are some SERIOUSLY gorgeous colors in this set. Moon Prism Power (as I mentioned in my previous post) is a really gorgeous white/pink/blue/gold color. I'd imagine it would like awesome over a black base.
Black Lady (known as "Wicked Lady" in the English dub) is a really lovely "black cherry" kind of color. It looks sort of brown here, but it isn't at all. It's more burgundy/purple. A very sultry/sexy color!
Chibiusa and Sailor Chibi Moon are very similar, but Chibiusa is more of a strawberry pink and Sailor Chibi Moon has a bit more fuschia and cool tones in it.
Pegasus is an incredible sparkly white/gold. I'm in LOVE with this one.
Small Lady is the girliest girly pretty princess pink.
Pink Sugar Heart Attack is an explosion of hot pink and silver glitter. SUPER sparkly and awesome.

My picks are Pegasus, Small Lady, Black Lady, Twinkle Yell, and Moon Prism Power. I hate to be "that person" that loves everything and never says anything critical, but I really do like all of these and wouldn't change anything about them. If you're someone who even REMOTELY likes pink eyeshadow, I highly recommend getting at least a sample set of this. The full size set is $40, which is a great deal considering these go for $6 each (6 x 9 = 54). The sample set is $11.25.

Totally unrelated to getting this set(honestly), I drew the Super Chibi Moon version of Chibiusa the other day. I got a new tablet not too long ago and I'm trying to get used to using it by doing some simple fan art. My boyfriend's favorite character in Sailor Moon happens to be Chibi Moon, so I drew this for him. I'm not the best at drawing in the anime style, but I figured it'd be appropriate to include it here. :)

So what do you think of the Chibi Moon set?

Have a lovely evening! :)

Daytime Pink & Gold LOTD with Persephone and Shiro

I've been testing out my Sailor Moon/Chibi Moon samples from Persephone a lot, but haven't really put a look together until today. I plan to do a post with swatches of everything, but there's a lot so I'm going to have to wait until I have time. I thought this look was really pretty for day-to-night, which is what I wore it for.

What I Used:

Face:
-e.l.f. primer
-Maybelline matte mousse concealer
-Hard Candy tinted moisturizer
-e.l.f. Complexion Perfection (as a setting powder)
-Hard Candy blush in "Pin Up"

Eyes:
-TFSI
-Persephone "Sailor Moon" inner 1/2 of lid
-Persephone "Chibiusa" outer 1/2 of lid
-Persepone "Moon Prism Power" inner corners
-Persephone "Princess Serenity" brow highlight
-Kat Von D tattoo liner on upper lashline
-MAC "Feline" on waterline
-Wet n Wild Mega Lengths mascara

Lips:
-Kiehls clear lip balm
-Shiro Cosmetics "Over 9000" (LOVING this color! Review/swatches of these coming soon!)

I love all of these shades. Sailor Moon is a gorgeous gold with pink sparkles. Moon Prism Power is really amazing, I can't even really describe it. It's sort of..white/pink/gold shimmer all at the same time. It's really interesting, I love it.

Sorry I haven't posted any looks in so long, but I'm glad to be back! :)
Have a lovely evening!

EOTD using Persephone Minerals Sailor Mars

I actually did this look a long time ago, right after I got the Sailor Mars set, I just forgot to post it for some reason. I love how it turned out, Mars Crystal Power and Princess Mars look so very nice together. It's a red look, but it's not harsh or dramatic at all, in my opinion.

What I Used:
-TFSI
-Persephone Minerals "Rei" on outer V and lower lashline
-Persephone Minerals "Mars Crystal Power" on outer 1/2 of lid
-Persephone Minerals "Princess Mars" on inner 1/2 of lid, blended into Mars Crystal Power, and blended above "Rei"
-random white highlight shade on brow bone
-Kat Von D tattoo liner in "Trooper"
-Wet n Wild lengthening mascara
-Maybelline black eyeliner

Victoria (the genius behind Persephone Minerals) agreed to do a trade with me, so I will be getting a sample set of Sailor Moon as well as the new Chibi Moon set. I'm really excited, there's not a single color in either of those sets that I don't like! In exchange, she will be getting this from me: A moon necklace for Sailor Moon eyeshadow, seems appropriate, right? :)

Have a lovely evening!

Persephone Minerals Sailor Senshi Mars and Jupiter Swatches

You know you like my visuals. :)
After being so impressed with the Sailor Mercury and Sailor Venus sets(see my review and swatches here), I decided to place another order from Persephone Minerals for Mars and Jupiter. I got the full size set of Mars with the free sample set of Jupiter. It's kind of cool that it worked out that way because as a kid Jupiter was always my favorite, and Mars is my favorite now. I know, I'm super cool.

In just the short amount of time between now and the last time I ordered, the packaging has improved. The full size jars now have a nice shiny silver label and the names are printed on the bottom instead of hand written like before.

Jupiter:Please excuse my messy swatches. I'm left handed but have to swatch with my right hand in order to get a good picture so sometimes it's not as pretty as it could be. Anyway, I'm in love with "Princess Jupiter." It's the perfect minty green color. I also love Sailor Jupiter, it's just like her uniform: medium green with noticeable pink sparkles. This collection was the one I was the least excited about, mainly because I don't wear greens much for some reason, but I really love it. I can already tell Princess Jupiter is going to get used up.

Mars:If you love red eyeshadow, you NEED this set. Mars Crystal Power is AMAZING (just like all of the "crystal powers," I've found) and Mars Flame Sniper is so sparkly it almost hurts my eyes. I wouldn't say Princess Mars is a light red, but it's definitely a soft red if that makes any sense. Rei is a gorgeous crease color. That's actually the one I've used the most so far. I can't wait to play around with these more.

I've noticed that all of these sets follow the same pattern. The ones named after their actual names (Rei, Makoto, Ami, Minako) are inspired by their hair colors. The ones named after their sailor names, like Sailor Mars, are inspired by the colors of their outfits. The "Princess" ones are soft, light versions of the theme colors, and the ones named after their special attacks are very sparkly and intense. The "Crystal Power" ones are all AMAZING duo chromes. If you don't get any other colors from these sets, I highly recommend all the "Crystal Power" shades. I wear Mercury Crystal Power ALL THE TIME, it's one of my favorite eye shadows ever.

What do you guys think? Have you tried Persephone yet or plan on it? I'm hoping to try out some of her other collections, the "Exotic Dance" one looks so pretty!

Persephone Minerals Sailor Senshi Review and Swatches

Persephone Minerals is an Etsy shop that sells eye shadow. It is run by Victoria, who is a total sweetheart. Not long after I started lurking her shop she started releasing Sailor Senshi sets. Now, if you know me you know I'm pretty much obsessed with anything Sailor Moon. This was taken last Halloween: ..Yeah. This is what you're dealing with. Needless to say, I was all over it. After lots of hemming and hawing I finally decided I was going to get the Mercury set first. Ami isn't my favorite Sailor Scout, but I enjoy blues and these looked so pretty. She's having a special where if you get a full size set you can get a free sample set (excluding the Sailor Moon one because it's bigger). For my sample set I decided on Sailor Venus. The full size Senshi sets are $25 and come with five colors (excluding Sailor Moon which has 12 and is $55). This is a special price that will be going up after the holidays. That's a pretty good deal if you ask me.
Shipping was really reasonable at $3.75 and everything came in a bubble mailer. I got my order in about 5 days, which is really quick! As you can see everything came in two little organza pouches (I do this too, it's a nice touch).
Here is the Mercury set, the Venus sample set (jars! thank the lord!) and also a free sample of "Deviant Dasher" from a Christmas collection.
Sample size compared to full size. Considering I paid $25 for one full size set and got five more of those samples free, that's pretty amazing.

SWATCHES! (all swatched over Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy)
Sailor Mercury: Color Descriptions (from Etsy listing):
Ami: a deeper, black based blue with blue microfine glitters
Sailor Mercury: a nice medium-dark blue with sparkles of aqua and gold
Princess Mercury: just the faintest touch of super shimmering blue. Very light & soft
Mercury Crystal Power: an amazing DUOCHROME shift from gold to bright blue. It is chock full of sparkles of gold and pink (this is spot on!!)
Mercury Aqua Rhapsody: Blue with various shades of blue sparkles, white sparkles, & aqua sparkles

Sailor Venus:Princess Venus: the faintest touch of orange-yellow
Minako: a nice yellow-blond color full of microfine red glitters
Venus Crystal Power: a slight shift from orange to gold, chock full of pink and gold sparkle
Sailor Venus: bright orange filled with microfine yellow and blue glitters
Venus Love & Beauty Shock: bright orange-yellow-gold, chock full of white, orange, and gold glitters

Here is a simple look I did today using all the Venus colors except for Love & Beauty Shock:
I was honestly BLOWN AWAY by these shadows. For such a new company (for any company, for that matter) they are amazing. I LOVE the "Crystal Power" ones they are so complex and gorgeous! To be honest, I'd buy these no matter what just for the novelty of it, but they really are awesome. I hate to rave so much, but I'm honestly super impressed. I WILL be getting the rest of the Sailor Senshi collection, I'm excited about Sailor Mars (my favorite scout) and Sailor Moon, which has some gorgeous golds. Persephone Minerals, you have my seal of approval.

Be on the lookout for a FIERCE EOTD using all of the Sailor Mercury set!

Have a lovely Sunday evening!
