Red Eyeshadow: It CAN be done!

With all the recent hype about the Wet N' Wild holiday palettes, I've noticed a lot of people saying they would never wear red eyeshadow (referring to the Night Elf palette). I personally love red eyeshadow, but I can see how people would be hesitant to try it. The Night Elf palette in particular has a lovely red, it's not super bright and it almost leans towards a maroon-ish. I put this look together using all the colors in the Night Elf palette and I think it's totally wearable!

BTW, Mai is having a giveaway for these WnW palettes here. I entered for the Snow Sprite palette and I'm so glad I did because the Walgreens near me only seems to have the Night Elf one. I like it, but Snow Sprite definitely would have been my first choice.

Have a lovely evening! :)

  1. Love it!! ;) I can't believe how much Wet n Wild has improved since I was like 12-13. it used to be all we could afford but we were constantly re-applying lol they used to have this set of 4-5 purples that I don't think exists anymore. We use to use it everyday, when we tried to do our make-up like Jessicka from Jack Off Jill, in the Sexless Dmons & Scars album, where she does like really gothy stuff with the purple. At the time it was the only colors I'd use aside from black. I may have to get that red though. OMG that kicks @$$

  2. I know, I was just saying that! I haven't really paid any attention to the brand since I was about that age haha but as you can see these look pretty good. The eyeliner is WnW too.
BTW, I LOVE Jack off Jill :D Good times.

  3. :) Thanks for the shoutout! I really really like the look you did with this; I kind of ignored Night Elf because I didn't think the colors would work well together but they really do!

  4. Great look! I personally LOVE wearing red eyeshadow. I love doing a red smokey eye instead of the traditional black sometimes. So much more interesting!
You've done a really great job of making it super wearable!

  5. I'm also reluctant to use red but this look is definitely worth a try! Too bad there is no Wet'n Wild in Germany (no special holiday palettes either, from no company).

  6. Verrah nice! I like that it's sort of dramatic and holiday-ish (with the pretty red) without being overt or unwearable at any other time.

  7. I agree that red is a totally wearable color! I don't think I would shy away from any color and especially not red! Just have to pair it with the right color. This is a great look and well blended!
