Classic Neutral Eye Red Lip LOTD using Urban Decay Naked Palette

Since I have the greatest mom in the world, I'm now the proud owner of an Urban Decay Naked Palette. I wanted one for a long time but could never seem to find one in stock when I had the money. But now I've got it and I'm a happy girl! I can definitely see what the fuss was all about, I really love it. I like being able to easily do neutral eye looks so I have more room to play up my lips. Speaking of lips, Caleb got me a couple of the new Lime Crime glosses for Christmas, and this red one is my favorite. I'll be reviewing them as well as the primer soon. I wore this classic look to go to Girl with the Dragon Tattoo the other night. (Really liked it, btw)

Eyes:
-Urban Decay Primer Potion
-Urban Decay "Virgin" all over inner half of lid
-UD "Sidecar" on outer half of lid
-mixture of "Buck" and "Naked" on crease
-MAC Feline black eyeliner on upper lashline
-Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion black mascara

Lips:
-NYX "Burgundy" lip liner
-Morgana Cryptoria "Very Cherry" lipstick
-Lime Crime "Candy Apple" lip gloss (I'm in love with this stuff)

I never get tired of this look even though I really don't wear it enough. I feel like it's perfect for any occasion. Let me know what you think, and I hope everyone has a lovely (and safe!) New Years!

Golden Triforce LOTD

I really love Shiro's "Triforce" eyeshadow, and not just because of the name. It's a really beautiful sparkly gold, and in my opinion is on par with Sugarpill "Goldilux." I wore it the other day and had to wear it again for this look.

What I Used:
-Lime Crime Candy Eyed Eyeshadow Helper (still testing this stuff)
-Shiro Cosmetics "Sudowoodo" in crease
-Shiro "Triforce" over Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy on main lid
-Shiro "A Neat Gun" along lower lashline
-Persephone Minerals "Pegasus" on inner corners
-Kat Von D tattoo liner pen on upper lashline
-Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion black mascara

Face:
-Meow Cosmetics Pampered Puss Foundation in "Frisky Persian"
-Clinique blush in "Smoldering Plum"

Lips:
-Avon "Sparkling Peach" lipstick

I really am starting to feel like my pictures aren't accurately capturing my looks. They always look so much better in person. I'm going to have to try another method, if you guys have any tricks let me know. It'd be nice if I had a macro lens, but for now my Rebel's default lens will have to do.

Have a lovely evening!

Still Alive LOTD with Shiro Cosmetics

My mom asked me to go Christmas shopping with her yesterday and man was it nuts out there. Unfortunately I still have some shopping to do, and I'm definitely not looking forward to getting back in that madness. This is the look I wore yesterday.

Eyes:
-Lime Crime Candy Eyed Eyeshadow Helper (I got this stuff on sale and I'm going to review it soon, this was my first time using it)
-Shiro Cosmetics "Zora" on crease and lower lashline
-Shiro Cosmetics "Majora's Mask" center of the lid
-Shiro Cosmetics "Still Alive" on the inner lid and inner corners
-Persephone Minerals "Princess Jupiter" on inner lower lashline, blended into Zora
-Kat Von D tattoo liner in "Trooper" on upper lashline
-Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion black mascara

Lips
-Avon mineral lipstick in "Crystal Coral"

I really love this look! I think the bit of blue-violet from Majora's Mask is what keeps it from being a typical blue-green look. I love that eyeshadow, you can't see it very well here, but it is loaded with pretty gold sparkles. Nothing less from Shiro, though. :)

Have a lovely evening!

Tacky Christmas Nails to Match Your Tacky Christmas Sweater

Okay, they aren't THAT tacky, but these days it's generally considered pretty tacky to wear red and green. It seems like "holiday" colors nowadays that are safe to wear are things like gold, silver, blue, and white. I figured I'd go cheesy, and I'm glad I did because I personally love this manicure :D
I used Zoya "Kristi," which is a very pretty pure red, and China Glaze "Party Hearty" on top of that, which is a ridiculous Christmas glitter polish that I LOVE. I just used a plain white striper to do the candy cane stripes and put a coat of Seche Vite on top. Now all I need is an oversized red sweater with a big Rudolph face on it.

Have a lovely weekend! :)

Black Cherry EOTD

So wow, Christmas is almost here. It really snuck up on me again, like it always does. I wore this look out the other day to go Christmas shopping (and birthday shopping for my mom). I like this color scheme. It's pink without being "cute," which is good sometimes. It also sort of matches my hair. Gosh my eyes look mean! You might even say my eyes can be so cruel...

What I Used:
-Too Faced Shadow Insurance
-Persephone Minerals "Black Lady" outer V and crease
-Sugarpill "Love +" as a transitional color between the blackened pink and bright pink
-Shiro Cosmetics "Because We Can" on the center of the lid
-Persephone Minerals "Small Lady" on the inner corner
-Maybelline Great Lash "Big" black mascara
-MAC "Feline" black eyeliner

I did a lot of sweeping/blending because I wanted this to be very gradient-like. I think the use of Love+ between "Black Lady" and "Because We Can" really helped boost that effect.

Next time I'll have a full LOTD and not just eyes. I'm starting to feel like my old self again when it comes to makeup, so hopefully I'll get back into posting as regularly as I used to. :)

Have a lovely day!

Morgana Cryptoria Mini Haul Swatches

It's been a long time since I've ordered from Morgana, and woah has she added new stuff! Glosses, gel lipsticks, balms..it was overwhelming. I knew she'd be doing a Black Friday sale, so I wanted to get a few things to try out so if I liked them, I could go buck wild during the sale. I bought some stuff, but I didn't get too crazy, fortunately. haha
Anyway, I ordered one gel lipstick (Athena), one balm (Merlot), one gloss (Fallen Leaves) and one eyeshadow (Pyramid Scheme). I always try to order at least one eyeshadow whenever I buy from Morgana because it seems like with all her amazing lip products, her eyeshadows get overlooked. They shouldn't though, they're pretty awesome as well.
My tiny, adorable little haul. :P

Merlot lip balm:Woah! This is no ordinary lip balm. I was kind of expecting something sheer and slick, but this is no such thing. It's got just the right amount of pigment and is really smooth. I didn't wear it very long, so I can't say how long it lasts, but it does make your lips feel soft. I can't believe how many different colors there are of these too, I had a hard time deciding. I went with this dark red because I figured I'd wear it a lot during winter.

Athena gel lipstick:Couldn't pass up a pretty purple! This one is really soft, and looks quite shiny on the lips. I think the finish looks great with the color, but I can't tell if this one would be very long wearing or not. It says on the site that they last a long time if you don't purse your lips together, but that's bad news for me because I have a habit of doing that almost constantly.

Fallen Leaves gloss:I applied this one with a lip brush, so that's why my cupids bow looks so sculpted, haha. When I first opened the pot, there was a lot of gloss stuck to the top and it kinda flung out on me a little so you have to be careful with these. However, I LOVE this stuff! I think the color is beautiful for fall and winter, and the green duochrome is very noticable, but not so much that it's weird. I got this with a cinnamon scent, and it's kind of tingly. This one I did wear a long time, and it lasts quite a while! Especially for a gloss. The pot is cheaper than the tube, but I think it comes with plenty of product, for me anyway.

Pyramid Scheme eyeshadow: A very pretty nude eyeshadow. It's kind of pinkish tan with gold sparkles. It doesn't look as pink on me as it does in the jar because I have so much yellow in my eyelids. I like this one a lot because I can see it going with just about anything.

Well, that's all for now. It's been WAAAY too long since I've gotten any goodies (been on a long no-buy) but I'm slowly getting back into the game. I'm trying to catch up on everyone else's posts as well. The semester is almost over, so thank GOD for that. You'll probably be seeing more of me from now on, like it or not. :D

Have a lovely evening!

Lacey Corset Nails using OPI "Mermaid's Tears"

I don't normally buy OPI polish (it's a tad out of my price range at $8.50 a bottle) but I sort of had a fit over this color when it came out. It's been a while since it came out, it was part of that Pirates of the Caribbean collection they had a while back. The name alone sold me (I've always had a thing for mermaids) but the color is GORGEOUS! It's so "me." Anyway, I did this cute little design yesterday and thought I would share. My bows are a little wonky, but it's not that noticeable from far away.

I used a black striper polish for the lines and little curves, and a dotting tool to make the bow shapes. It was a little tedious, but it wasn't hard. I think this would be cute with a pink or purple polish too.

Oh, and if you guys are still in Black Friday mode, I've been having a sale going on in my Etsy shop. Everything is 20% off with the code "crystalball." It's active until Monday. The link is on the right side of this page, or just go to www.annamax.etsy.com. I actually broke my no buy and bought a few things this weekend from Morgana Cryptoria, so expect some swatches whenever they get here. It's been too long!

Have a lovely evening!

Turkey Day LOTD Using Shiro and GDE

Oh, Thanksgiving break, how I love you so. I'm proud of myself for actually taking the time to do a look today. And it's neutral. Weeeird, right? Well, it's sort of neutral. It's very much a fall look, so I thought it would be appropriate for Thanksgiving.

Eyes:
-Too Faced Shadow Insurance
-Shiro Cosmetics "S.S. Anne" all over main lid
-Glamour Doll Eyes "Just Bitten" on the outer V
-Nameless shimmery white from one of the Wet n Wild palettes on browbone
-Maybelline "Big" Great Lash black mascara

Lips:
-Morgana Cryptoria "Roses and Violets"

Cheeks:
-Clinique blush in "Smoldering Plum" (even though you can't ever see it in my photos, it's actually a really lovely blush)

I feel like I've done a look very, very similar to this in the past. I really like S.S. Anne. It's one of the few browns that I really love. Roses and Violets is also a very pretty "normal" lipstick from Morgana. I only have a sample of it, but I think if I had a full size I would wear it all the time.

Well, I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I hope you didn't eat as much as I did... brb, going into turkey coma.

Nebula Nails and New Layout

This design is actually from a little while ago, but I never got around to posting it. I got tons of compliments on it, probably because it's so sparkly. I was worried it was going to end up looking like nail polish vomit, but I think it turned out pretty good. I got the idea from cutepolish from Youtube.

First, I painted my nails a solid black. Then I took a piece of a makeup sponge and dabbed white, then pink, then blue, then yellow polish across the nail in random directions. I just used white polish and a toothpick to make the stars, then painted a layer of silver glitter polish on top to make it even more starry. Pretty cool, eh?

By the way, what do you guys think of the new layout? I don't quite have a degree in graphic design yet, and also did the banner in one afternoon, but I think it looks much better than before. It just needed more purple! I think I already mentioned this a while ago, but the illustration was a commission by guibb on deviantart. Isn't it awesome? I highly recommend checking him out if you want a little person for your website, blog, or what have you.

I hope everyone has a lovely week!

Sugar Skull - LOTD

Okay, I guess technically this isn't a look of the day if I didn't wear it out, but I had to share. I volunteered to help with a Halloween photoshoot my college is doing this week, and I signed up to do make up as well as pictures. Well, today was one of my days to volunteer and no one showed! My school is really terrible about letting students know what's going on. Ah well, I got all pumped to do Halloween makeup and then had no customers, so I did this on myself tonight. I've never done a sugar skull face before, so it's not that great, but I still rather like it. :)

To make my face white, I used Sugarpill "Tako" white eyeshadow because I don't have any neato white foundation or anything like that. I used Sugarpill "Bulletproof" very sparingly on the hollows of my cheeks to create the "sunken in" look.
I used white eyeliner to do all the preliminary drawings and then went back in with black. I used NYX "Black Bean" on the nose and in the eye area, but man does that stuff smear easily. It'd probably help to use a good base and some matte black eyeshadow on top. I put Sugarpill "Afterparty" on my lids and blended it into the black.
For the lips, I used NYX "Milk" to make them white and used my Kat Von D tattoo eyeliner pen to create the lines. For I also used this for the little curlies around the heart on my forehead. The heart is filled in with Sugarpill "Love+."

That's it! I thought it was worth sharing :) In other news, my actual Halloween costume this year is Marceline the Vampire Queen from Adventure Time. What are you guys doing this year?

Oh Hai! Sugarpill Purples LOTD

Hi there! Remember me? I don't blame you if you don't. I haven't been active on here because I honestly just haven't been wearing makeup. When I'm not at school I'm sleeping, and when I do go out, I usually can't be bothered to spruce up. Therefore, no reason to post. Sad, right? I know. I'm going to try to do better. I found it in me to do a look yesterday, so hopefully I can get back into the swing. Anyway, I figured I'd share.

Eyes:
-TFSI
-Sugarpill "Poison Plum" in the crease
-Sugarpill "Bulletproof" just a bit to darken the crease
-"Sugarpill "Hysteric" on outer 1/2 of lid
-Sugarpill "Paperdoll" on inner 1/2 of lid
-Kat Von D tattoo liner in "Trooper" on upper lashline
-MAC Feline on waterline
-Maybelline Lash Blast Fusion black mascara

Lips:
-MAC "Quite Cute" dabbed on slightly
-Latherati "Sinister" lip balm (colorless)

Oh, and here's me showing off my Majora's Mask kandi cuff I made recently. I'm into making these things now..they're slightly addictive.

Have a lovely evening!

Fairy Princess Unicorn LOTD

..that's what it made me think of, anyway.

Face:
- e.l.f. primer
-Covergirl Aqua Smooth foundation in "Classic Ivory"
-e.l.f. Complexion Perfection (I just use this stuff as a setting powder, it definitely doesn't perfect my complexion)
-Clinique blush in "Smoldering Plum"

Eyes:
-TFSI
-NYX "Milk" blended out all over lid
-Sugarpill "Poison Plum" in crease and lower lashline
-Sugarpill "Paperdoll" outer 1/3 and sort of blended into Poison Plum
-Persephone Minerals "Sailor Chibi Moon" center of lids
-Persephone Minerals "Small Lady" inner 1/3 of lids
-Kat Von D black eyeliner pen on upper lashline
-MAC Feline black eyeliner on waterline
-Maybelline Lash Blast Fusion mascara

Lips:
-Fyrinnae lip lustre in "Shangri-La"

Man this look is mega-girly. Not a bad thing, though, I like to look like a princess every now and then. I mean, that's why we're all here, right?

Have a lovely evening! :D

LOTD on a Cold Summer Day

It really was a cold summer day yesterday. I have no idea why. I was actually shivering in shorts and a thin hoodie. In JULY. In a humid subtropical climate. Wut? Today was fine though, I don't know. Bipolar weather, amirite?

Face:
-Covergirl Aqua Smooth foundation in Classic Ivory
-Clinique Blush in "Smoldering Plum"
-e.l.f. Complexion Perfection

Eyes:
-TFSI
-Fyrinnae "Rapunzel Had Extensions" all over the main lid
-Morgana Cryptoria "Grog Blossom" in crease and outer lower lashline
-NYX "Cottage Cheese" inner corners
-Kat Von D tattoo liner in "Trooper" on outer upper lashline
-NYX "Milk" on waterline
-MAC Feline on outer lower lashline
-Maybelline Lashblast Fusion black mascara

Lips:
-Morgana Cryptoria "Amethyst"

I don't usually wear orange. It's just not my favorite color at all, I don't think it looks great on me. However, these are two exceptions. I've never used them together but I like it for a simple look. The lipstick ,Amethyst, is a little difficult to apply(kinda patchy), but I'm in love with the color. It's more of a fall/winter shade I guess, but since when do I follow makeup rules?

Have a lovely evening!
