Black Cherry EOTD

So wow, Christmas is almost here. It really snuck up on me again, like it always does. I wore this look out the other day to go Christmas shopping (and birthday shopping for my mom). I like this color scheme. It's pink without being "cute," which is good sometimes. It also sort of matches my hair. Gosh my eyes look mean! You might even say my eyes can be so cruel...

What I Used:
-Too Faced Shadow Insurance
-Persephone Minerals "Black Lady" outer V and crease
-Sugarpill "Love +" as a transitional color between the blackened pink and bright pink
-Shiro Cosmetics "Because We Can" on the center of the lid
-Persephone Minerals "Small Lady" on the inner corner
-Maybelline Great Lash "Big" black mascara
-MAC "Feline" black eyeliner

I did a lot of sweeping/blending because I wanted this to be very gradient-like. I think the use of Love+ between "Black Lady" and "Because We Can" really helped boost that effect.

Next time I'll have a full LOTD and not just eyes. I'm starting to feel like my old self again when it comes to makeup, so hopefully I'll get back into posting as regularly as I used to. :)

Have a lovely day!

Mercury's Light - LOTD

Okay, so I guess there's not a whole lot of light coming off Mercury since it's a dead planet, but it sounded cool. My skin has been doing a little better lately so I've been doing more looks. I'd like to re-do this one sometime and make it a lot more dramatic and cateye-ish.

Face:
-Maybelline Matte Mousse concealer (Fair)
-Covergirl Aqua Smooth foundation (Classic Ivory - finally a a fair foundation that isn't pink as hell!)
-Clinique blush in "Smoldering Plum"
-e.l.f. Complexion Perfection

Eyes:
-TFSI
-Fyrinnae "New Moon's Light" crease, outer lower lashline
-Persephone Minerals "Mercury Crystal Power" all over main lid and blended above NML
-Sugarpill "Tako" as a brow highlight
-NYX Milk on inner corners and waterline
-Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in "Trooper" (black)
-Covergirl lash blast black mascara

Lips:
-Avon lipstick in "Crystal Coral." This is my go-to natural lipstick and I'm almost out, which almost never happens. Too bad I don't sell Avon anymore, I guess now I need to find my own rep.

I'd been picturing this look for a while so I had to do it. I like how it turned out, New Moon's Light is a really impressive color, and like I've said before, Mercury Crystal Power is one of my favorites ever. Again, I think this would look good if it were more dramatic.

By the way, there's my hair. The highlights used to be purple but they have faded to a pink. The Jerome Russel Punky color dye didn't do a thing for me(stained everything BUT my hair), so I had to get some Special Effects. I used Pimpin' Purple. SFX is just the best brand for me, I think. It always lasts a really long time and has the best variety of colors. I wish I had the guts to dye my whole head that color!

Have a lovely day! :)

Go With the Flow EOTD

I wanted to do a look with a really sharp line instead of smokey like I usually do, and this is what I came up with. I wore this to a Queens of the Stone Age concert. I was there the entire time, but couldn't see them at all. They sounded good, but it would have been cool to actually see the stage. Being 5'1" has a lot of disadvantages. I've actually liked QotSA since about 2002, right when they first came out, so I was happy to get to go. I honestly had no idea they were as famous as they are, though, and unfortunately I'm not very familiar with their new stuff. Oh well, it was still good. If you didn't know, this look is named after what's probably their most popular song.

Eyes:
-TFSI
-Sugarpill "Bulletproof" for the outline and the inside of the wing
-Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy all over center and inner lid
-Moi Minerals "Galaxy" all over main lid
-Shiro Cosmetics "Articuno" inner lid/corners
-Persephone Minerals "Mercury Aqua Rhapsody" applied wet on lower lashline
-NYX "Milk" on waterline
-Maybelline Lash Stiletto black mascara
-Kat Von D tattoo liner pen

I used Clinique blush in "Smoldering Plum" on the hollows of my cheeks and Morgana Cryptoria "Wisteria" with a sheer pink gloss on top on the lips.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to show off my Whimsy Beading earrings. It seems like you're not really a beauty blogger unless you've got some Whimsy Beading jewelry. I first heard about them from Phyrra, and I've purchased from them a few times. Their stuff is gorgeous! I had these earrings custom made, but you can get them in their shop, they're called "Anna's Cotton Candy.
I highly recommend purchasing from this shop! They're really nice and super talented as you can see. I think they're having a sale going on right now where you can get 20% off with the code JOEY20. I'm not sure how long it lasts, though.

Well, I'm off to work on an Illustrator project. Joy! I'll leave you with the Queens of the Stone Age song I named this post after :)
Is it just me, or does the music video seem to be a huge metaphor for penetration? o.O

Have a lovely evening!

Really Quick Dramatic EOTD with Fyrinnae and Sugarpill

I wanted to post this look really quick. I only did one eye because I was just playing around with New Moon's Light, but it turned out pretty cool so I thought I'd share!

-NYX "Milk" as a base (since this wasn't meant to be worn very long)
-Fyrinnae "New Moon's Light" all over the main lid and winged out
-Fyrinnae "Sequined Master" patted on top of New Moon's Light
-MAC Feline black eyeliner on lower lashline and winged out just below NML
-Sugarpill "Bulletproof" all over lower lashline and blended out just a bit
-Sugarpill "Tako" as a highlight
-NYX Milk again on waterline
-Maybelline Lash Stiletto black mascara

That's it! It was actually pretty simple, but it's super dramatic. I really like this formula, with the dark black on the lower lashline and one main bright color on the lid. I've really fallen in love with Bulletproof!

Have a lovely evening!

Just Another St. Patrick's Day EOTD

I know they're probably flooding your feed and getting on your nerves, sorry. I'm also sorry for being absent so much lately. It's not like anyone's on the edge of their seat waiting for me to post a blog, but I know I find myself thinking "What ever happened to ___?" School is what happened to me. Last week was spring break and as soon as I got back I was loaded with assignments. I'm done (for now), though, so I'm happy about that.
Enough about me, here's the look. Just eyes today, my skin is NOT pretty lately and trust me you don't wanna see it.
A little blurry to show the glitter.

-TFSI
-Pixie Epoxy (just on the lower lashline)
-Shiro Cosmetics "Budew" all over main lid
-Fyrinnae "Eternal Innocence" in crease
-Persephone Minerals "Jupiter Oak Evolution" on lower lash line and winged out
-Persephone Minerals "Princess Jupiter" inner corners
-MAC Feline eyeliner on waterline
-Maybelline Lash Stiletto black mascara
-Kat Von D tattoo liner in "Trooper" on upper lashline

I really like how this turned out, but it didn't really transfer well into pictures. It looked much better IRL. Jupiter Oak Evolution looks AMAZING. I don't normally wear really glittery eyeshadows so I haven't gotten the chance to wear this color yet, but it VERRRRRY sparkly and pretty. It was the perfect color for St. Paddy's Day, even though I didn't do anything. (I'm not 21 yet, what's the point?) I also really love Budew, it's one of my favorite greens that I have. I just felt like being festive today. I know I don't look like it, but I am very Irish on my mom's side.

*On a completely unrelated but very important note, if you have bought lipsticks from Morgana Cryptoria, you should read this post that the owner made yesterday. She has recalled some of her lipsticks because of some incorrect ingredient information from her supplier, as well as found out some of them contain carmine (making them non-vegan). If this concerns you, you really should check it out. I have a few of the recalled ones and e-mailed Melissa about it. She replied almost immediately and offered either a refund, store credit, or exchange. I think it really shows integrity that she came right out and let everyone know what was up immediately. I can think of a few companies who could learn a thing or two from this lady...

EOTD using Persephone Minerals Sailor Mars

I actually did this look a long time ago, right after I got the Sailor Mars set, I just forgot to post it for some reason. I love how it turned out, Mars Crystal Power and Princess Mars look so very nice together. It's a red look, but it's not harsh or dramatic at all, in my opinion.

What I Used:
-TFSI
-Persephone Minerals "Rei" on outer V and lower lashline
-Persephone Minerals "Mars Crystal Power" on outer 1/2 of lid
-Persephone Minerals "Princess Mars" on inner 1/2 of lid, blended into Mars Crystal Power, and blended above "Rei"
-random white highlight shade on brow bone
-Kat Von D tattoo liner in "Trooper"
-Wet n Wild lengthening mascara
-Maybelline black eyeliner

Victoria (the genius behind Persephone Minerals) agreed to do a trade with me, so I will be getting a sample set of Sailor Moon as well as the new Chibi Moon set. I'm really excited, there's not a single color in either of those sets that I don't like! In exchange, she will be getting this from me: A moon necklace for Sailor Moon eyeshadow, seems appropriate, right? :)

Have a lovely evening!

EOTD using WnW Lust Palette

I know it's been a while since I've posted anything. My excuse is nothing interesting, just been busy/lazy (yes, both) because of Christmas. I've done lots of pretty looks, I just never seem to have time to take a picture before I have to run out the door. Today, though, I was able to. I only used colors from the Wet n Wild "Lust" palette. I LOVE this thing. They don't have names, so bare with me on the descriptions, but I really like how this turned out.

Eyes:
-Too Faced Shadow Insurance
All from Lust palette:
-gunmetal color all over main lid
-pale cream/peach blended from crease up to brow
-deep matte purple and dark sparkly purple in outer crease and lower lashline
-grape-y matte purple blended into edges of crease colors
-pale pink/purple on browbone
-Kat Von D black tattoo liner on upper lashline
-Maybelline black eyeliner on waterline
-Wet n Wild lengthening mascara (LOVE THIS STUFF.)

I got my mom two China Glaze nail polishes for part of her Christmas present("Rainbow" and "Heaven") and they were buy 2 get 1 free so I got "Midnight Kiss" for myself. I'm in love with this color. It's gold, but it's pale, almost champagne. It's very shimmery. It is completely opaque in 2 coats, but this is 3 because I wanted it to last a while.Pretty, right? I wore that ridiculous "Party Hearty" color on my nails all through December, but this is what was on my nails on Christmas. I wanted to keep it classy :)

Just so everyone knows, I have not forgotten about the giveaway I promised. There are a couple reasons why I haven't posted it yet. First, I wanted to wait until after the holidays were over just to get all of that out of the way. Second, I don't have all the prizes gathered yet. I have a China Glaze nail polish, a mascara (the one I used in this EOTD, new and unopened of course) and a full-sized Aromaleigh eyeshadow. I'm thinking of getting some mini jars from Fyrinnae for this but I'm not sure which colors to get. Help me out. They're for you guys, after all. :)

Have a lovely evening!

A Ridiculously Bright EOTD

Ever have those days where it's 1am, you're bored, WoW realms are down, and you feel like playing in makeup? This is what came from one of those times for me, which is why it looks a little sloppy. I only did one eye, which is why there are no full face pictures. I also didn't put on any mascara because I hate wearing it since it's a pain to remove. It didn't seem worth it since I wasn't going anywhere. Even though I love bright colors, I rarely wear looks that are this neon. I should though, it really is more my style.

What I Used:
-NYX jumbo eye pencil in "Milk" smudged out all over the lid
-Sugarpill "Poison Plum" on crease and lower lashline
-Sugarpill "Dollipop" on outer half of lid
-Sugarpill "Flamepoint" on the inner half of the lid
-Sugarpill "Buttercupcake" on inner corner and blended above the whole shape
-Sugarpill "Tako" on browbone
-Kat Von D black tattoo liner

I wanted to use all the warm colors from Sugarpill's pressed shadows. I like how this turned out, it's very sunset-y. OH, and good news. Remember how yesterday I was all sad because I couldn't find the WnW Snow Sprite palette? Well, I must have had a snow sprite on my shoulder yesterday because I found one! It was a good day :)

In other news, I have over 100 followers now! Yay! I can't believe I've gotten that many in such a short time. I will definitely be doing a giveaway after the holidays. Any suggestions for what I should include? All I have right now is WnW mascara and a China Glaze nail polish, and will probably include some of my jewelry.

Have a lovely evening!

Red Eyeshadow: It CAN be done!

With all the recent hype about the Wet N' Wild holiday palettes, I've noticed a lot of people saying they would never wear red eyeshadow (referring to the Night Elf palette). I personally love red eyeshadow, but I can see how people would be hesitant to try it. The Night Elf palette in particular has a lovely red, it's not super bright and it almost leans towards a maroon-ish. I put this look together using all the colors in the Night Elf palette and I think it's totally wearable!

BTW, Mai is having a giveaway for these WnW palettes here. I entered for the Snow Sprite palette and I'm so glad I did because the Walgreens near me only seems to have the Night Elf one. I like it, but Snow Sprite definitely would have been my first choice.

Have a lovely evening! :)

Foresty Blue/Green EOTD

I love Fyrinnae, have you heard? They have such great quality stuff and variety. I really need to order more, my collection isn't big enough! I put this look together last night using Fyrinnae and Shiro. I love Shiro too. :D Anyway, here it is.

I used:
-NYX Jumbo eye pencil in "Black Bean" smudged out all over lid
-Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy applied all around eyes
-Fyrinnae "Sleepy Hollow" on outer V and along lower lashline
-Fyrinnae "Strip Poker" center of lid
-Shiro Cosmetics "Kokiri Forest" above crease
-Aromaleigh "Amarena" inner corners and underneath brow
-Jordana black FabuLiner
-Maybelline Falsies black mascara

I love Strip Poker. It's not quite blue but not quite gray either, and the gold sparkles are gorgeous. Sleepy Hollow has gold sparkles as well, which is why I chose to put them together. I really think the green Kokiri Forest color brought it all together, though. It's...foresty. :D

Have a lovely evening!

A Pokemon for Halloween: Oddish

OKAY, so this was originally supposed to be my Halloween costume. I wore it out, but ehhhh it didn't turn out like I had hoped. What you see here is at 2:30am, after I got home. My hair had been up in a ponytail high on top of my head but I had taken it down, hence the crazy look. Spraying my hair green is where I went wrong, pretty much. And once you do that, you're pretty much stuck with it unless you have time to wash your hair, dry it, and style it all over again, which I did not. Oh well. I have a look for you guys anyway :D

What I Used:
-TFSI
-NYX Jumbo pencil in Milk smudged out from lid to brow
-Shiro Cosmetics "Budew" applied heavily all over the lid
-Fyrinnae "Snow Bunny" in crease
-Sugarpill "Poison Plum" lightly in outer crease and along lower lashline
-Shiro Cosmetics "Spinarak" on inner V
-Sugarpill "Tako" underneath brow
-NYX pencil in "Black Bean" on waterline with Poison Plum on top
-Kat Von D black tattoo liner on upper lashline and extended out
-Maybelline Falsies black mascara

I was really pleased with how the makeup turned out, even though the costume ended up being a complete and utter fail. Since today is the real Halloween, I'm going to throw something together really quick and my makeup is going to be amazing. Pictures will happen. :)

Happy Halloween, everyone!

A Pokemon for Halloween: Rapidash

So, I realized I hadn't done a fire Pokemon yet so what better one to do than Rapidash? I know, I know..Charizard. Well I like Rapidash better so deal with it. I mean come on..it's a flaming unicorn. :D I used false eyelashes for this look and said to myself "Psh I'll just throw these on really quick to take the pictures and then take them off no big deal." Yeah well...you can clearly see I didn't try very hard when putting them on so don't laugh. Anywaaay, here's what it looks like.

-NYX Jumbo eye pencil in "Cottage Cheese" smudged out from lid to brow
-Shiro "Dunsparce" and Fyrinnae "Polar Bear" mixed together all over lid
-"Sugarpill "Love +" "Flamepoint" and "Buttercupcake" in the crease, all blended upwards
-Shiro "Meowth" on browbone
-Flamepoint again on lower lashline
-Sherani #126 lashes
-NYX Jumbo eye pencil in "Milk" on waterline

-Lipstick is Revlon "Blushed"

I'm pretty pleased with how this turned out, aside from the eyelashes fail. You know what would have worked better for the lid color? Shiro's Rapidash. Huh, imagine that. Too bad I don't have it. T^T I did order some samples from the new collection, though, and they will likely be used for my costume. Halloween is pretty close, get excited for my Oddish look! :)

Have a lovely evening!

A Pokemon for Halloween: Growlithe

I know Growlithe isn't really a bright orange, but I didn't really have the color he actually is and I figured orange was close enough since he sort of looks like a tiger. Besides, sometimes he looks goldish and sometimes he looks more orange, so it depends on what picture you're looking at. I originally wanted to do tiger stripes for this look but ehh..that didn't really work out. Over the top theatrical makeup isn't really my strong spot. hah. Anyway, here's what I came up with.

-NYX Jumbo eye pencil in "Milk" smudged out from lid to brow
-Sugarpill "Flamepoint" all over lid and lower lashline and blended out
-Shiro "Dunsparce" and "Meowth" mixed together from inner corner blended up above the orange to the brow
Kat Von D tattoo liner in "Trooper" for the black lines
Rimmel white eyeliner on waterline
Maybelline Falsies black mascara

I apologize for this one, I really don't feel like it's my best work. If you can't tell from the pictures I haven't been feeling too well today. I'm not sick or anything, just really blah. I still wanted to do a look today, though so I did my best! I promise I'll be back to normal tomorrow with an awesome look. :D I really wanna do Ho-Oh, but I'm not sure how to do it yet.

Have a lovely evening! :)

A Pokemon for Halloween: Shinx

Shinx was my first Pokemon that I caught on Diamond (not including the starter). I didn't know what the heck I was doing at the time but I used Shinx, Luxio, and Luxray all the way through the whole game. Luxray was in my group in the final gym battle. Definitely one of my favs. :D

What I Used:
Nyx Jumbo pencils in Milk, Black Bean, and Electric blue as creamy bases for the colors
Jordana FabuLiner in black to create the outline of the wings
matte black from 88 palette on outer V
light blue color from 88 palette all over lid
Aromaleigh "Puffo" patted on top of the blue color to make it brighter and give it some sparkle
Sugarpill "Buttercupcake" in crease and lower lash line
Sugarpill "Tako" on inner corner and brow bone
Jordana FabuLiner again on upper lashline, and "Milk" on the waterline
Maybelline Falsies black mascara

The process for this look was a little scatter-brained but I think it turned out pretty good. I haven't used Buttercupcake until now and I'm pretty impressed with it. It's a tad on the chalky side, but it's really pigmented and easy to work with. I think it looks really nice with "Puffo."

Let me know what you think, have a lovely evening! :)
