Last Day of my Sale and Where I've Been

I just wanted to let everyone know today is the last day to get 15% off in my Etsy shop. Enter the code BLACKFRIDAY15 at check out to get the discount. I've got lots of cute things that would be great for Christmas gifts, and my prices range from $8 to $38.

Also, I thought I owed it to you all to let you know where I've been lately. There's a reason why I haven't been posting anything. I had a death in the family on Monday, and it's been an extremely difficult time for me. I'm not ready to say too much about it but I will say it was someone who I was really close to. I haven't really been inspired to do much makeup, but I've been making jewelry like crazy because it's therapeutic for me. I apologize for disappearing, it's just been a really rough week.
I should be back to normal soon enough, don't worry. :)

Have a lovely evening!

Persephone Minerals Sailor Senshi Review and Swatches

Persephone Minerals is an Etsy shop that sells eye shadow. It is run by Victoria, who is a total sweetheart. Not long after I started lurking her shop she started releasing Sailor Senshi sets. Now, if you know me you know I'm pretty much obsessed with anything Sailor Moon. This was taken last Halloween: ..Yeah. This is what you're dealing with. Needless to say, I was all over it. After lots of hemming and hawing I finally decided I was going to get the Mercury set first. Ami isn't my favorite Sailor Scout, but I enjoy blues and these looked so pretty. She's having a special where if you get a full size set you can get a free sample set (excluding the Sailor Moon one because it's bigger). For my sample set I decided on Sailor Venus. The full size Senshi sets are $25 and come with five colors (excluding Sailor Moon which has 12 and is $55). This is a special price that will be going up after the holidays. That's a pretty good deal if you ask me.
Shipping was really reasonable at $3.75 and everything came in a bubble mailer. I got my order in about 5 days, which is really quick! As you can see everything came in two little organza pouches (I do this too, it's a nice touch).
Here is the Mercury set, the Venus sample set (jars! thank the lord!) and also a free sample of "Deviant Dasher" from a Christmas collection.
Sample size compared to full size. Considering I paid $25 for one full size set and got five more of those samples free, that's pretty amazing.

SWATCHES! (all swatched over Fyrinnae's Pixie Epoxy)
Sailor Mercury: Color Descriptions (from Etsy listing):
Ami: a deeper, black based blue with blue microfine glitters
Sailor Mercury: a nice medium-dark blue with sparkles of aqua and gold
Princess Mercury: just the faintest touch of super shimmering blue. Very light & soft
Mercury Crystal Power: an amazing DUOCHROME shift from gold to bright blue. It is chock full of sparkles of gold and pink (this is spot on!!)
Mercury Aqua Rhapsody: Blue with various shades of blue sparkles, white sparkles, & aqua sparkles

Sailor Venus:Princess Venus: the faintest touch of orange-yellow
Minako: a nice yellow-blond color full of microfine red glitters
Venus Crystal Power: a slight shift from orange to gold, chock full of pink and gold sparkle
Sailor Venus: bright orange filled with microfine yellow and blue glitters
Venus Love & Beauty Shock: bright orange-yellow-gold, chock full of white, orange, and gold glitters

Here is a simple look I did today using all the Venus colors except for Love & Beauty Shock:
I was honestly BLOWN AWAY by these shadows. For such a new company (for any company, for that matter) they are amazing. I LOVE the "Crystal Power" ones they are so complex and gorgeous! To be honest, I'd buy these no matter what just for the novelty of it, but they really are awesome. I hate to rave so much, but I'm honestly super impressed. I WILL be getting the rest of the Sailor Senshi collection, I'm excited about Sailor Mars (my favorite scout) and Sailor Moon, which has some gorgeous golds. Persephone Minerals, you have my seal of approval.

Be on the lookout for a FIERCE EOTD using all of the Sailor Mercury set!

Have a lovely Sunday evening!

Last Aromaleigh Order (swatches)

Aromaleigh is probably the most popular indie cosmetics brand that I've heard of. I'd always heard of them but I didn't ever order from them until AFTER finding out that they're closing. My first order was a few full sizes of their "Ciao Italia" collection and I loved them all. They have released 3 awesome collections since then, and they're all still available on their site. A lot of their stuff is sold out now that they're in their final clearance but there are still a few things available. In my last order I got a few things from their older collections that I never got to try and one more from Ciao Italia.I ordered 8 full size eyeshadows. If you'll notice there are nine here.

This is the second time this has happened to me! I must be lucky or something. This just means it'll be included in the next giveaway I have (probably at 100 or 150 followers)

I love them all. Frutti di Bosco is probably my favorite, and it looks great with Satin Laces. I'm a little sad that I didn't try Aromaleigh sooner, but I'm happy I got to before they closed. If you're interested, they've still got a few things left, go check it out before everything's gone!

Have a lovely Sunday! :)

Liplicious!

I am a HUGE sucker when it comes to yummy lip glosses. I could care less how long they stay on your lips as long as they taste good. I went in Bath and Body Works the other day and they had a huge display of Liplicious lip glosses (all of which have yummy flavors) and they were buy 2 get 1 free. Of course I had to.
I could not for the life of me decide which ones to get but these are the ones I FINALLY decided on (poor Caleb..I'm sure he was thinking "They all look the same!!") From left to right these are Vanilla Bean Noel(clear with glitter), Watermelon Sorbet(pinky pink), and then Cookies and Cream(sheer mauve). I love all of these SO much. They actually stay on pretty long if you can manage to not immediately lick them off. They're very sticky so if that bothers you I wouldn't recommend them. The watermelon one looks amazing on top of any hot pink lipstick (Morgana Cryptoria's Azalea Blue would be my pick!) and the Vanilla Noel one looks good on top of any color and doesn't feel gritty like some glittery glosses do. The Cupcake one comes in lots of other yummy dessert flavors (Red Velvet, Pink Chiffon, Lemon Cupcake just to name a few). It was hard to decide but I really love these. Thank you, Christmas!

Have a lovely Saturday!

Urban Decay Colored Mascaras from Hautelook

I've been a member of Hautelook for a while but I never bought anything until now. I either could never find anything I wanted, or what I did want always seemed to be sold out. Not too long ago (even though shipping took a bit) Urban Decay was on there and had some of their colored mascaras. I think they're normally $15 or something like that and I got these for less than $5 each. Believe it or not, these are my first Urban Decay items.

I think they show up pretty darn good considering my eyelashes are jet black. The color shows up but it's not ridiculous looking, which I like. I think I like Black Cherry the best, it's the same color as my hair! :) As a mascara they work pretty well. It's definitely more thickening than lengthening (hence the name "Big Fatty" mascara). I tend to lean more towards lengthening ones since my eyelashes are already pretty thick, just short. I really like these though, and at less than $5 each it was a steal!
Anyone else ever tried these, or any colored mascaras?

Lime Crime's Airborne Unicorn

OKAY so remember how the other day I was saying I was on the hunt for the perfect purple lipstick, and Airborne Unicorn was a candidate? Well, Lime Crime was having a 20% off sale that day so I went ahead and got it. Although it didn't end up being the color I was looking for, I actually really, really like it.
Now, before you get mad at me I just want to say that I'm not one to be bothered by that kind of drama. (If you haven't heard, just google it). If the company had been killing puppies or something then yeah, I'd have a problem with it but whatever went on doesn't really concern me too much. I don't AGREE with how they handled some things, but I would think that since then they would have learned their lesson.
The only thing that ever interested me was their lipsticks (no, not that gross blue one). There's a couple of reasons why I would never buy their eyeshadows. First, they're $14. That's too much. Second, I've seen swatches and while they are pretty, I feel like I could get the same thing elsewhere for much cheaper. Whether or not they are repackaged I can't say because even though they've been accused of this in the past, they never admitted to it. Regardless, all of that is enough to make me pass on the eyeshadows. The lipsticks, however, have interested me for a long time. I kept going back and forth on whether I wanted to try them or not. I'd go "Ooh so pretty, I want." and then "Ehh but they're $16, ehh the company has a bad repuation.." The price is what really put me off. $16 is a lot, it's more than a MAC lipstick. Since it was 20% off though, I thought I'd try one.
ANYWAY. On to the stuff.
HOW CUTE IS THAT BOX? I'm probably going to keep it, because I'm lame like that. My package shipped the day after I paid for it and arrived very quickly.
SEE. Proof that I actually bought this and therefore have no reason to lie about the products. The only reason I'm emphasizing this is because everytime I see a review of this company that's positive, all the comments are like "NUHH U LIE U GOT PAID TO SAY TAHT." I'm sure it's happened, but it's not happening here.

You can't tell me that's not beautiful. I LOVE the color. It's a little more pink than I thought it was going to be but I love it. It's not ridiculous, but it's also fun. I've read a lot of reviews saying these lipsticks are drying. Um, whut. I'm not sure if it has to do with the color or if they changed their formula, but this lipstick is not drying. It's really creamy. I waited to write this up so I could wear it a while and see how it is. It's very moisturizing, actually. I dunno. Again, maybe it's certain colors or maybe they changed their formula.

This isn't really supposed to be a review or anything, I kind of just felt like I should give my opinion on this since the reviews are SOOO mixed. I really have no reason to lie about it, and I would hope no one would think I would do that! I love my readers I wouldn't recommend crap to you guys :D I do understand the people who are against this company too, though. They do have kind of an iffy repuation and sometimes it can just put a bad taste in your mouth. I just prefer to ignore the drama. Take it for what it's worth, but I really like it! I probably won't order more colors anytime soon because I'm BROKE and they're overpriced, but I do not regret this purchase. I hope this helps for anyone that was on the fence about this brand.

Fall FOTD

This is actually from yesterday, but I was really wanting to wear Aromaleigh's "Bacio." I'm not usually a big fan of browns but Bacio is really lovely.

Face:
Meow Cosmetics Pampered Puss foundation in Frisky Persian
Clinique blush in Smoldering Plum

Eyes:
-TFSI
-Glamour Doll Eyes "Just Bitten" on outer V
-Aromaleigh "Bacio" all over main lid
-Shiro "Meowth" on inner corners and brow
-Shiro "Ganondorf" directly in crease
-Kat Von D black eyeliner pen
-Maybelline Falsies black mascara

Lips:
-Fyrinnae lip lustre in "Shangri-La"

I really like "Just Bitten" and "Bacio" together. When I ordered Just Bitten I was expecting it to be more red than it is, it's actually more of a maroon-ish burgundy with gold sparkles. It's a perfect fall color.
