Blue/Green LOTD and Red Hair!

I finally got my hair dyed the other day after weeks, if not months, of needing it badly. You probably couldn't really tell from my photos, but it needed help. I'd also had enough of trying to dye my hair red and not getting it as bright as I wanted, so I just took the plunge and did it all with that L'Oreal Hi-Color stuff and 30 volume developer. It turned out really nicely, I love it. Ever since I dyed it I've been doing nothing but green, blue, or green/blue looks because I love how those colors look with red. This look is a recreation of one I did ages ago.

Eyes:
-TFSI
-Shiro Cosmetics "Kokiri Forest" (now called Kokiri Emerald, I believe) on inner lids and blended above the crease
-Fyrinnae "Strip Poker" on outer 1/2 of lids
-Fyrinnae "Sleepy Hollow" on crease and lower lashline
-Kat Von D tattoo liner in "Trooper" (if you can't tell, this stuff is about used up)
-Maybelline "One by One" black mascara
-Rimmel white eye liner on waterline

Face:
-Garnier Light/Medium BB Cream
-L'Oreal True Match concealer
-e.l.f. complexion perfection

And here's a good look at my hair:
(Thanks to Caleb for the pretty picture hehe) The shade I used is called "Magenta." I was a little worried it was going to turn out really pink because of the name, but it's just what I wanted.

Woo! Sorry it's been forever since I posted, I'm a bad blogger >.<

Have a lovely day!

Valkyrie - LOTD Inspired by Gwendolyn from Odin Sphere

I did this look for this week's Never Too Much Sparkle challenge, which is video game-themed. My recent favorite game is definitely Odin Sphere. It's an older game (it was for PS2) but I downloaded it a couple months ago on PlayStation Network and played through it. It's such a great game! It's a side scroller, but it's so pretty and has a great story. You play through five short stories as five different characters. One of my favorites is Gwendolyn, daughter of Demon Lord Odin. I pretty much just based this look off the blues and purples from the feathers on her armor.

Better look at Gwendolyn:

Face:
-L'Oreal True Match foundation in Classic Ivory (neutral)
-some ol' Clinique powder stuff.

Eyes:
-Too Faced Shadow Insurance
-Sugarpill "Magpie" on inner corners
-Persephone Minerals "Mercury Aqua Rhapsody" on inner lid
-Fyrinnae "New Moons Light" center of lid
-Morgana Cryptoria "Zombie Ambrosia" also on the center of the lid, blended into New Moon's Light
-Sugarpill "Weekender" on outer lid
-Glamour Doll Eyes "Tattooed" starting to blend out onto the temples
-Sugarpill "Poison Plum" on lower lashline and blended out around the temples
-Sugarpill "Lumi" patted onto the center of the lids
-Matte black from Kat Von D Metal Orchestra palette on outer crease for dimension
-MAC Feline black eyeliner on lower lash line
-Maybelline One by One black mascara
-Eyelashes are from NYX, but I forget which ones they are

Lips:
-Morgana Cryptoria "Starburst" lip balm in the corners for some depth (dark gray-ish blue)
-Morgana Cryptoria "Otherworldly"
Sugarpill "Weekender" dabbed onto center of the lips for some purplish blue shimmer

Whew! This look was a doozy but I really love how it turned out! I don't get the chance to do these elaborate looks very much, unfortunately. They're fun. Now I'm kind of tempted to do the other four Odin Sphere characters...

Have a lovely evening! :)

LOTD with Anna's Favorite Indie Neutrals

It's pretty rare that I get excited about neutrals. It's not that I don't like them, I just don't get excited about them. I guess I've just felt like there can only be so many shades of brown, and I'll never really care about any of them. However, there are a few gems that I have found in the indie makeup world that have captured my little heart. I figured I'd do a look using some of them. I would like to point out first, though, that Shiro Cosmetics "Meowth" is my number one favorite neutral, but I can't find it, so that's why it's not in this look. :(

Natural light:

Eyes:
-Too Face Shadow Insurance
-Aromaleigh "Teddy Wisp" in the crease
-Shiro Cosmetics "S.S. Anne" on outer 1/2 of lid
-Morgana Cryptoria "Pyramid Scheme" on inner 1/2 of lid and blended up above Teddy Wisp
-Fyrinnae "Samhain Spirits" on lower lash line
-MAC Feline black eyeliner on upper lash line and water line
-Maybelline One by One black mascara

Face:
-L'Oreal True Match concealer
L'Oreal True Match foundation (Classic Ivory: Neutral)
-e.l.f. complexion perfection

Lips: -Evil Shades "Deception" Hardcore Lips

Well, of course I love this look. These are most of (but not all!) of my favorite neutrals! Despite what I said earlier about not getting excited about them, I do think browns and beiges look good on me, and honestly I wear them more than anything else. I'm sad I can't find Meowth, though, because that would have made this look just perfect. I know it's in the abyss in my bathroom somewhere, it just hasn't turned up yet.

Anyway, let me know what you think and have a lovely evening! :)

Hydrangea LOTD

Woah, it's been a while. It must have been a LONG while, because Blogger looks totally different. Wow. Well, I'm back for now. This semester kinda kicked my ass, but it's over now and I'm kinda getting back into makeup lately so HOPEFULLY I can make this blog less of a ghost town.
Here's the look I wore...two days ago. My mom said it reminded her of hydrangea flowers, so I thought that'd be a good name. I originally had Sugarpill "Afterparty" all in the crease, but I toned it down with a darker blue. This look was still more vibrant in person, though. I think I need to get the hang of photographing my looks again.
The last one is in natural light.

Eyes:
-Too Faced Shadow Insurance
-Sugarpill "Afterparty" in crease, as well as the dark blue from the Kat Von D "Metal Orchestra" palette
-Sugarpill "Poison Plum" on outer 1/2 of lids
-Fyrinnae "Sequined Master" all over main lids and blended into Poison Plum
-Sugarpill "Lumi" on inner corners and blended up above the other colors
-MAC Feline black eyeliner on upper lashline
-NYX Milk on waterline (I need to find a better white eyeliner for my waterline..that stuff is TOO white)
-Maybelline One by One black mascara

Face:
-Garnier BB Cream in Light/Medium (a little too dark for me)
-Cover Girl Aquasmooth foundation in Classic Ivory
-e.l.f. Complexion Perfection

I just have some Burt's Bees lip balm on my lips, no lipstick or anything.

So yeah. I'm still alive. If you don't remember me, I understand, but I still you remember you all so I'm going to go try and catch up with everyone now. :) Have a lovely weekend!

Venom Flower LOTD using Evil Shades

I really wanted to put together a look using what I got from Evil Shades the other day. It just kind of worked out that all the eyeshadows I got look really pretty together. I'm pretty much in love with the "Caged Gypsy" lipstick as well.

Eyes:
-Too Faced Shadow Insurance
-Evil Shades "Venom" in crease and along lower lashline
-Evil Shades "Wanderflower" all over main lid
-Evil Shades "Nymphette" blended into the black above the crease
-Urban Decay "Virgin" on inner corners and browbone
-MAC Feline black eyeliner along upper lashline and waterline
-Maybelline "One by One" black mascara

Lips:
-Evil Shades "Caged Gypsy"

Face:
-Cover Girl "Clean" foundation
-Hard Candy "Pin Up" blush
-e.l.f. complexion perfection

And now I'm off to pack. It's spring break, so I'm heading to the beach until Friday! Yay! Let me know what you think, and have a lovely evening!

Evil Shades Swatches

I finally FINALLY got around to ordering from Evil Shades! I've heard nothing but praises about this company so I've been wanting to try them for a really long time and finally did. I didn't order much, but I made sure to sample both lip products as well as eyeshadow. I got 3 of each. Here are my swatches, and I'll post a look I did using some of these in a second.
Here are the three eyeshadows I got. Venom is a really pretty sparkly black, and it is VERY dark and pigmented. Wanderflower is like a muted, dusty shimmery teal. Nymphette(which I believe is named after the blogger) is a beautiful silky midnight blue. I'm very impressed with them so far. They apply evenly and last a long time.
I don't have any lip swatches for you this time, but I can assure you I will be wearing these in looks. Deception and Lost Kiss are "Hardcore Glosses" and look amazing. Deception looks darker in this swatch than it really is, but its kind of a brownish nude shade. I haven't tried Lost Kiss yet, but from the swatch it kind of reminds me of Fyrinnae's "Lollipop-pop" lip lustre from forever ago. Caged Gypsy is a "Deviant Lipstick" that I honestly bought for the name. (I have a rabbit named Gypsy that happens to live in a cage. :3) It's sort of hard to tell from the swatch but it's a pretty pinky coral shade. Candied is a freebie I got which I think is from a new line of "whipped lip butters." I haven't tried it out yet but it looks lovely.

I haven't really had these long enough to do a full review but I wanted to post some swatches at least. Stay tuned for a LOTD using some of these goodies! :)

Two Looks: Dramatic Dark Grey/Purple and Bright Sparkling Green

I actually have two looks from this weekend, as opposed to zero like it has been. I didn't wear either one of these anywhere special, but that doesn't really bother me. I enjoy the process more than impressing people, really.

Here's the first look:

Eyes:
-Urban Decay Primer Potion
-Sugarpill "Bulletproof" in crease and along lower lashline
-Sugarpill "Dollipop" blended into the crease
-Kat Von D "Glock" (from the Metal Orchestra palette) outer 1/2 of lid
-Kat Von D "Razor Gray" on inner half of lid
-Kat Von D "First Class" on inner corners
-MAC "Feline" eyeliner along upper lashline
-NYX "Milk" on waterline
-Maybelline "One by One" black mascara

Lips:
-Morgana Cryptoria "Mistress of Diamonds"
-Lime Crime "Kaleidoscope" Carousel Gloss

The Kat Von D Metal Orchestra palette is kind of hit and miss. I got it on sale for about $15, so it's not a huge deal, but some of the shadows are disappointing, like the white I used for the inner corners. It's like...chunky or something, I dunno. I like the two greys a lot, and the matte black is pretty pigmented. It's about half and half. As for the lips, how pretty are those two together? Some of you might consider it blasphemous to use those two together, but I don't care. It's a gorgeous combo. I really love the color of Mistress of Diamonds, it's a very flattering purple.

The second look:
I wore this look to Krispy Kreme. So glamorous. :P

Eyes:
-Persephone Minerals "Jupiter Oak Evolution" in outer V
-Sugarpill "Midori" just a little bit on the outer 1/2 of lid
-Fyrinnae "Electric Stardust" over some Pixie Epoxy all over the center of the lids
-Nyx "Milk" blended out on the inner corners
-Sugarpill "Bulletproof" along lower lashline
-MAC "Feline" on upper lashline and waterline
-Maybelline "One by One" black mascara

The foundation I used for both of these looks is Cover Girl Clean in "Creamy Natural" in case anyone was wondering.

This look was so much brighter and sparklier in person, I hate that it didn't transfer into photos. Electric Stardust is such a pretty minty sparkly color.

Whew, now that I got all that written, I'm going to go attempt to finish Final Fantasy XIII so I can get XIII-2! Homework is for squares!

Have a lovely Sunday!

"Blix Remix" LOTD

Here's my contribution to the "Blix Remix" challenge this week in the Never Too Much Sparkle Facebook group! I haven't had the chance to participate in one of these until now. The challenge was to pick a look from Blix and try to recreate it. Blix is one of my absolute favorite bloggers, so I had to do it. I get inspired by her looks all the time, not to mention she's one of the hottest women on the internet. Just sayin'. The original look I attempted to recreate is here.

...and here's me attempting to be as sexy as Blix, lol. Fail.

For the eyes:
-Urban Decay Primer Potion
-Sugarpill "Bulletproof" in the crease and all along the lower lashline into a point in the inner corner
-Sugarpill "Poison Plum" blended above and into the outer V and crease
-Aromaleigh "Frutti di Bosco" on outer half of lid
-Persephone Minerals "Pegasus" on inner half of lid, applied pretty generously
-Glamour Doll Eyes "Family Secret" on the browbone
-Kat Von D tattoo liner in "Trooper" on the upper lashline, winged out
-Cover Girl Lash Blast Fusion black mascara

Lips:
-Avon "Peach Daiquiri" lipstick
-some random pink sparkly lip gloss

I really like how this turned out, but it doesn't look as dramatic on me. I still love the black point on the inner corners, though, that's such an awesome touch. I think it would have helped if I had used some false lashes, it would have bumped up the drama and been more true to the original.

This was fun, I'm hoping to participate in more of these little make up challenges. It really helps you to get inspired to be creative, which I've been needing lately.

Have a lovely weekend!
